He's not saying anything about Jame's guide (Which is amazing, btw). He's disputing the argument that if you use a leveling guide, you miss everything.
Whether you use Joana's, or Jame's, both are great and show you where to find quests you had no idea existed. I"m on the "cheap bastard" side and use Jame's, but I've seen Joana's guides, and both are of great quality.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you, but are you saying that Jame's guide is bad? That's a blatant load of crap, and anyone who has tried it knows that.

"Following a leveling guide may give you more of the lore but not ALL of it. And if THAT is your goal then, you should be doing EVERY quest you can find."
Not to sound like a shill, but this is the exact misconception I am trying fix with this post. I recommended that leveling guide because you do see *every* quest.
Yes, you will be given the *option* to skip certain quests and instances. So choose the option not to.
Will the new WotLK guide give you Loremaster of Northrend? Yes, it will.
My point is, ignore the misconceptions. If you need to keep up with your power-leveling friends, yet still want to see every quest in the game, use a good leveling guide.

I'm only gonna say this twice.
Never pay for something you can get for free!
Maybe Joana's will push you to quests that are interesting lore, but so will Allakazam.com Following a leveling guide may give you more of the lore but not ALL of it. And if THAT is your goal then, you should be doing EVERY quest you can find.
Now as far as leveling guides go, James Leveling guide is now an addon and completely free. Free is better. It can be found at wow-pro.com.
So once again, Never pay for something you can get for free!

This is offtopic, but I am so pissed off at Blizzard. Why isn't uludar the last instance in "wrath of the lich king"? They don't care about their lore anymore! Yogg-Saron is the old god of death, he should me much more powerful than Arthas! I mean Blizzard really got it right with pre nerfed C'thun, he was badass. They shouldn't have nerfed him and just moved on, an old god is supposed to be an amazing power. I mean C'thun killed a fucking Titan (supposedly), so if 25 lvl 80 guys can kill Yogg-Saron Sargeras should be a piece of cake at lvl 100 or whatever. I mean, we couldn't kill Kil'Jaeden but TWO old gods?! Seriously, I think blizzard dosen't care about lore and just want to attract kids with a faggy dk king... and don't get me started on Arthas (He is overrated as hell). Wow just lost a player, we will just have to see if they fuck up the next expansion too....

I was a big fan of the leveling guide. Actually, I'd probably say I still am even though I was a bit piffed at having to pay for the Northrend guide.
Either way, I was worried that Quest Helper would end up trumping her guide but in the end, I definitely think Joana's stuff is superior. It points you in the right directions, and like you said, helps you discover things you might have never known about. QH, though, in addition to the guide is probably a really powerful combination.
I should try it out on a new server for shits and giggles.
