Just over a week ago, Perpetual Entertainment announced they would be putting their MMORPG “Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising” on “indefinite hold”. In other words, the game is shelved and for all practical purposes canceled.
So what’s the big deal? Game are canceled all the time.
What makes this one unusual is “Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising”, was in Closed Beta. That’s right, Beta. So, for all practical purposes, done. And this is an MMORPG, so one can only imagine the massive amount of work that had gone into it.

The irony of perpetual entertainment canceling a project makes me laugh.

“Perpetual” indeed. Perhaps the name jinxed them.
