How is it that more people aren’t into lore? It’s the best part of the game. Without it, even our favorite video games would be little more than advanced versions of pong. Andrew Stroscher thinks way too much about games. It’s one thing to read the quests, another to read them slowly, and yet another to write about them on your own game-lore blog. Such a person would have to be an obsessive, story-loving masochist. Andrew Stroscher is a screenwriter.
Andrew Stroscher (aka Cocles) does other things too, such as web-writing, iOS development, and voice acting, but screenwriting is where it’s at. Andrew Stroscher procrastinates by growing carnivorous plants, talking about cars, and paying too much attention to what he’s reading in-game.
If you wish to contact Andrew Stroscher, please feel free to do so as that would assist greatly with the aforementioned procrastination. You may even learn why Andrew Stroscher enjoys writing his full name so often. Andrew Stroscher.
Andrew Stroscher has a Twitter feed he never updates. He also has a Facebook page, as well as a Google+ profile.

I’m going to start this post differently. There have been a lot of requests to discuss Sylvanas Windrunner, so I imagine many of you will be happy to see this. That said, if you really want to understand Sylvanas Windrunner in our post-Cataclysm world, you need to read the short story Edge of Night. Period. [...]

He’s arguably the most badass orc of them all. Sure, Thrall can lay down some hurt, but when it comes to just busting heads with an axe (the way an orc should), it’s hard to beat Varok Saurfang. So when Cataclysm came out, what did Blizzard do? They decided to stuff Saurfang away for safe [...]

[November 2011 Update: With the next expansion taking place entirely in Pandaria, it looks like we'll have to wait a little longer to learn Calia Menethil's fate. Suffice to say that the current speculation still stands. We'll see her when Kul Tiras finally makes its appearance in WoW.] This is some pretty stretched speculation here, [...]

Sargeras will be the final boss of WoW’s 5th expansion. That I’m sure of. But where has he been in the meantime? The common misconception is that he’s dead. That’s a load of bunk. He’s as alive as ever. That said, Blizzard definitely went out of their way to make it as confusing as possible.

With every major expansion in WoW we have had one headliner boss. Sure, there have been cameos such as Kil’Jaeden, but ultimately only one who received top-billing. The three so far have obviously been Illidan, Arthas, and now Deathwing. So who will be next? That’s simple: Queen Azshara. Period. And here’s why…

It was the sword of the Lich King, but where is it now? At the end of Wrath of the Lich King, Frostmourne was shattered during the final battle with Arthas when Tirion Fordring struck the great runesword with the even greater Ashbringer. After the battle, the shards of Frostmourne remained on the ground, seemingly [...]

By popular demand, I’ve added a Facebook page for Loregy that you can check out here, or by clicking on the Facebook logo over to the right. A link to the RSS Feed is still up in the top right, and then there’s of course the Twitter feed. As with the other feeds, new posts [...]

The problem with lore as it is with WarCraft, or even StarCraft, is we’re dealing with a franchise. With every new title the lore grows deeper, more robust, more confusing. There’s simply more to keep track of, and if the guy in charge of it all can’t even remember who’s still alive, then how can [...]

There’s a lot we can extrapolate from what’s already been announced regarding Blizzard’s next MMO. For those of you who don’t know, “Titan” is the official Blizzard code name for the new MMO they’ve been working on for the past several years. If you think back to the early days of WoW, certain names pop up that [...]
